Brian J. Neary Again Chosen As A Top Lawyer By His Peers in Two Separate Polls

Brian J. Neary has once again been recognized as one of New Jersey's premiere criminal defense lawyers by his peers.  Two separate statewide polls - featured in two major magazines - selected Mr. Neary as a top lawyer in New Jersey.

Brian has once again been named in Best Lawyers in America.  Included in this group since 1991, he has again been named in the two categories for criminal defense: white collar defense (such as fraud) and non-white collar defense (such as murder, drug cases).   Brian is among the first New Jersey lawyers selected in a new category: dui/dwi defense.  Only seven Garden State lawyers have been chosen.

Brian is one of only 2 lawyers statewide chosen for all three criminal defense categories.

This group, entitled Best Lawyers in the Metro New York area was featured in New York magazine's double issue for July 4-14.

Earlier this year, Brian was again named to the Top 100 Lawyers in New Jersey for the third straight year.  This statewide poll was conducted by the publication called Law and Politics.  It then designates these lawyers as "Super Lawyers".

This group was featured in the April addition of New Jersey magazine.

Both polls are being reviewed by the New Jersey Supereme Court as to whether they draw an unfair distinction among lawyers.  It is also suggested that these designations are a form of advertising.

Brian Neary is aware of this court review and will follow the requirements of the New Jersey Supreme Court.  It is well recognized that the New Jersey Supreme Court itself has created a group of lawyers recognized for their expertise as trial lawyers.  Certified criminal trial attorneys are so designated by the Court based on experience, education and examination.

Brian was so certified as a criminal trial attorney in the first group chosen in 1982.  He has been so certified for the past 25 years.  There are less than 300 certified criminal trial attorneys in New Jersey.
